Neptune
Neptune was discovered in 1846.
Like Jupiter and Saturn, this Solar System planet has rings made of rocks around its exterior. The rings are made of rock and their reflective properties are not too strong which is why it becomes difficult to see them in the night sky
The atmosphere of Neptune is gaseous in nature and consists of 3 gases, namely, hydrogen, methane and helium. Water vapor can be found as well. If you were to travel towards the core of this Solar System planet, you would notice that the atmosphere gets thicker.

Red light gets absorbed by the methane in the air, giving it a distinct green-blue color. Scientists have found white clouds in the atmosphere as well. The main components of these clouds are methane crystals. This causes the atmosphere to shine very brightly when Sunlight hits the crystals.

The elements which constitute the interior of the planet are unknown. Astronomers make guesses about the characteristics of this Solar System planet by comparing ongoing activities with features of other planets.

Not much is known about the planet because of its large distance from Earth.

Neptun has 13 natural satellites, even though more could be found in future. Some of these include Prospero, Stephano, Caliban, etc. The orbital period of Neptune is 60,190 days or 164.79 years.
